Site Update

30 Jan

Update time! I have been a busy little bee, proving yet again that a lot more can be accomplished when one is not struggling to graduate from college.

First off, I would like to discuss a new blog that myself and some of my fellow Exclusives are partaking in, starting today. The overall premise is that it’s a book blog run by an English major (Cassie-wa/Lúthien), a bookstore manager (myself), a librarian (Dippy), and a corporate whore (Pokey) posting reviews, being literary nerds, organizing book clubs once a month, and generally reading as much as possible.

So please, check out Bibliomantics, which begins today. I will be posting every Friday HERE, beginning on February 4th. Also follow the Bibliomantics on twitter to keep up to date with our blogging 24/7.

In other news, I have added two new poems to the Poetry section entitled, “The Twelve Days of Jewmas” which I’ve been told would make Mel Brooks proud (::blushes::) and “Under Mt. Grumpus” a poem that allowed me to vent some anger about my boss.

In addition to this, I read 78 books in 2010 and have written an Annual Reading/Review List: 2010, which includes recommendations for my favourite books I read last year.

Finally, I have ANOTHER new layout, Slytherin themed this time, brought on by my switch to WordPress (I have moved from the .org software to the .com hosting). This should make posting easier and more streamlined. Freeing up more of my time for reading and writing.

Site Update

14 Dec

Just wanted to pop by to show off the awesome new Fli Brish layout, which has been completely revamped with the help of WordPress. By integrating this software into my hosting package, I am able to update and reformat everything much easier. And you now have the ability to leave comments, just like any other blog you would encounter elsewhere on the internet. Which is good, because I was getting tired of those iframe layouts.

In terms of site updates, I have a new original fiction story:

The Retraction
It’s best to admit when your wrong, especially when it’s so pleasurable.

And three completely new sections for the site itself:

1. Bibliophilia
Where I post all things reading related.
2. Ink
Which features information on all my current tattoos.
3. Masquerade
Which is where I post various costumes I’ve made.

In addition to all of this I attempted NaNoWriMo, although it didn’t hit the 50,000 word count by the end of the month and ended up with a mere 23,000. Regardless, I have posted information about this project below, and may continue it in the future. If I don’t end up completing it as a novel, I may post it as a novella.

Title: How I [Barely] Survived College
Genre: humour/nonfiction
Length: multi-chaptered
Summary: A procrastinator’s attempt to graduate college, preferably with all of her sanity intact.
Author’s Note: Written for NaNoWriMo 2010.
Excerpt: I guess that means I never found the right college, because I never got that “magical feeling”, which I can only imagine feels the same as receiving cunnilingus from a unicorn.

Finally, whenever I can get it working, I will be adding a twitter widget and blog roll to the sidebar on the right. If you would like your blog to appear in this area, please leave me a comment so I may add that for you. Of course, I would appreciate a link on your site in return.

Until next time lovelies!

In light of the not so good “Alice in Wonderland” movie that just came out, I come bearing Sweeney Todd: the Microwaveable Pop-Tart!!! Unlike “Alice”, “Sweeney Todd” was actually a good Tim Burton film, and thus much much harder to make fun of. Who knows though, there may be an “Alice in Wonderland” Pop-Tart in the future. But only if I can stand watching Johnny Depp “fudderwack” again. ::shudders:: I have nightmares of him “fudderwacking” all over my face. Vigorously. ::cries::

As for what’s next update wise… I have absolutely no damn clue! It will just have to be a surprise
